Becca Fleming, Mixed Media and Oil Paintings

Becca is a mixed media artist, working in oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, ink, charcoal, and pastel. She graduated from Utah State University in 2019 with a degree in art and design. In the future, she plans to pursue Art Therapy, but at the moment is satisfied painting alone in her storage-closet-turned-studio with her cat and pet bugs.

Becca's work focuses on ambiguities and contradictions. She believes in the expression of the human face, body, and hands and the ways that they tell a conflicting stories. She thinks about ways in which communication is visual and multifaceted. With influences from surrealism and abstraction, Becca's work shows bodies and features in exaggerated form, with distortion, elongation, and an unusual color palette.
